Pregnancy, IVF & Adoption Deferral Policy

At WhyWeRun, we are committed to creating an inclusive, understanding, and supportive event environment. We proudly work with SheRaces to ensure our policies actively support women and parents at all stages of life.

Our deferral policy is designed to support:

  • Women who become pregnant
  • Women undergoing IVF treatment
  • Parents adopting children

We believe no one should feel excluded from participating in an event they’ve trained hard for, simply because of changes to their family circumstances.

 

Who Can Request a Deferral

You may request a deferral if:

  • Pregnancy: You become pregnant between registering and event day
  • IVF: You begin IVF treatment between registering and event day
  • Adoption: You are adopting a child under 5 years old, with the adoption date confirmed after entry and before the event

 

How to Request a Deferral

To request a deferral, just email us any time after entering and up to 1 day before the event.

We don’t ask for any documentation. We operate on trust and respect your circumstances. Just let us know which category applies, and we’ll take care of the rest.

 

Deferral Terms

  • Pregnancy: You may defer your place to any one of the next three editions of the event. Your place is guaranteed, with no extra fees, even if the entry price increases.
  • IVF & Adoption: You may defer your place to the next edition of the event. Entry is guaranteed, and there is no additional cost.

 

Support for Breastfeeding Parents

If you are a breastfeeding parent attending the event, please reach out to us early. We will do everything we can to support you, provided any arrangements do not compromise event safety or logistics.

No judgement, just understanding and flexibility.

 

Women-Only Facilities

We want every participant to feel safe, respected, and comfortable. As part of our commitment, we provide:

  • Accommodation: Women-only rooms, each with a private toilet and shower
  • Event Site: Women-only toilets at the main checkpoint, clearly marked and stocked with hygiene products
  • Menstrual Products: Organic menstrual products from TOTM, available in all women-only facilities at the event base

Please note: use of women-only toilets by male participants is not permitted.
